:: UPCOMING
Um, stuff. I can't be expected to keep track of all my comings and
goings, can I??? I'll be DJing my company's east and west coast parties
in the next couple of weeks. And a lot lot lot is on my DJ platter for
the future. (*Wringing hands mischievously.*)
>>_I HATE MEDIA.
SFWeekly has officially announced that raves are "not evil." In a
similar move, a local Minnasota newspaper featured the following small
headline: "Raves--not so bad after all, by golly?"
>>_NO, REALLY.
Get the full story, featuring a profile of local SF crew "Friends and
Family" here:
http://sfweekly.com/issues/2000-10-18/music2.html
"Past raves have featured such notable local DJs as Monty Luke and
Forest Green (both featured in Groove, a film based on an FnF-style
rave), recent Wammie nominee Joe Rice, Plateshifter, Amber, Tektrix,
Stonie, and Miller himself. The DJs play a broad spectrum of music,
including techno, tech-house, ambient, house, trance, drum 'n' bass,
and a host of other electronic subgenres."
>>_I HATE GOING OUT! EVENTS...
As you know, the only crew I give full info for, even if I'm not DJing,
is Epiphany. This Tuesday Epiphany will be hosting a night of beats at
the Mad Hatter. For weekly Tuesday night fun I *strongly* recommend
both Mad Hatter ($3-$5, Oakland) AND Music Lovers (free, SF).

DJ Yarrr dropped out of college to write screenplays and live in a
ghetto. He moved to SF with a computer, a synth, two parakeets, and no
money at all. He quit a good job to study Hawaiian magic in the Bahamas.
He quit another good job to write a novel. He never finished his novel.
His screenplays all sucked. He works for a bank. He used to smoke more
herb than Cypress Hill. He is notoriously unreliable, but he has really
nice shoes.

XJS: exile from the Welsh Massive, co-founded Sister in 1997, and went
on to join Epiphany and Plate Tectonics, two underground collectives
serving up Bay Area Integrity on a hotplate of low-fat, high-phat
renegades, clubs and raves. Most recently XJS cracks the whip as host at
the only 12 straight hours of drum and bass on the net in the USA:
Seismology is the geophysical science of bass every week at LiveDJs.com
internet radio.
** Dragn'fly (Epiphany, Teknique/Sac)
Spinnin: Acid trance (<--- good trance, not bad trance)

In November 1998 Dina DJd at her first major party--Epiphany's "Oops,
Wrong Planet"--and has been a resident ever since. See the wax master
who was so nervous in November '98 that should couldn't even look at the
crowd, and who will now look you sqare in the eye and kill you ten times
before you hit the ground.
