Hybrids are definitely all the rage. In December Gemini announced that they would be releasing the CDT-05 Hybrid Turntable, the first turntable on the market to play both vinyl and CDs. This new unit finally hit stores in March and is available to order with online prices ranging from $635 to $799.I don't see anything here that's on the verge of taking the crown from the mighty Technics 1200 that only (gosh, only?) plays vinyl. You can't argue with something that does the job so well and lasts basically forever. But, I have to give Gemini credit for being the first to cross the finish line in this particular race. Seeing as it's backordered on some sites, it looks like Gemini's new hybrid is selling well.
